The Add Images bulk action lets you add extra photos to many listings or catalog products at once, while keeping the images that are already there. It is the "add" counterpart to Replace Images, which overwrites the full image set.
It is useful when you want the same photo on a lot of items, for example:
A size chart or measurement guide
A promo or sale banner
A "sold as spare parts" or condition notice
A seasonal or brand badge
The action is available in two places: on your listings and on your catalog products.
Where to find it
For listings:
Listings & Products → Listings Manager → select your listings → Bulk Actions → Images & Video → Add Images to Listings
For Catalog Products:
Products → All Products → select your products → Bulk Actions → Add Images to Products
💡 Tip: you can type image in the Bulk Actions search box to jump straight to it.
How to use it on listings
Step 1: Select your listings
Tick the listings you want to update, or use the header checkbox to select everything in the current filtered view. The dialog confirms the count at the top, for example "The chosen action will be applied to 8 selected items."
Step 2: Add the images
You have three ways to bring in the new images:
Upload photo from computer - pick image files from your device, or drag and drop them into the upload area
Upload photo from URL - paste a direct image URL
Image Gallery - choose images already in your 3Dsellers Image Hosting library
Step 3: Choose where the new images go
Under Where to place the new images, pick one:
Option | What it does |
After the current images (default) | The new images are appended to the end. Your main photo does not change. This is the safest choice. |
Before the current images | The new images go to the front. On eBay the first image is the gallery photo buyers see in search, so this changes what shoppers see first. |
Insert at position | Enter a number to drop the new images at a specific spot in the order. Position 1 has the same effect as "Before the current images". |
Step 4: Run it
Click Add images. The action runs in the background, so you can keep working while it processes. Progress and any per-item errors appear in the usual bulk action process tracker and notifications.
How to use it on Catalog Products
The steps are the same, with one extra choice at the bottom of the dialog.
Under Save Options, pick one:
Save changes to catalog only (default) - the image is added to the product in your catalog. Your live channel listings are not touched right now.
Save changes to catalog and revise linked listings - the image is added to the product and pushed out to the listings linked to it.
ℹ️ If you choose catalog only and you expect to see the new photo on eBay straight away, you will not. Pick the second option, or push the change later with a revise.
Image requirements (eBay)
Minimum size: 500 × 500 pixels
Maximum size: 9,000 × 9,000 pixels
Maximum file size: 12 MB
eBay allows up to 24 images per listing

What happens when there is no room left
Your existing images are always kept - this action only adds to them. If an item does not have room for all the new images (for example an eBay listing already sitting at 24 photos), that item is reported in the process error report rather than silently skipped.
So after a large run, it is worth opening the error report to see which items could not take the new image. Those need photos removed first, or the extra image left off.
Best practices
Test on 2 or 3 items first. Run it on a small selection, open one of the items, and check the image order looks how you expected before doing thousands.
Check your filters before using "select all". Select all applies to everything in the current filtered view, so narrow the view first (segment, tag, category, account).
Leave the default placement unless you mean it. "After the current images" keeps your main photo intact. Only move an image to the front if you actually want it to become the eBay gallery photo.
Use the Image Gallery for anything reusable. If you plan to add the same banner or size chart again next season, upload it to Image Hosting once and pick it from the gallery each time instead of re-uploading from your computer.
Mind the 24-image ceiling. If a lot of your listings are close to the eBay limit, expect some rows in the error report and plan for it.
Add a tag before you run it. Tagging the selection first gives you an easy way to find exactly the same set of items again later, which helps a lot if you change your mind.
Prefer the catalog when your listings are linked. For products linked across several channels, adding the image on the catalog product keeps everything consistent rather than editing each channel's listings separately.
FAQ
Does this delete my current photos?
No. The current images are kept and the new ones are added around them. If you want to overwrite the whole image set instead, use Replace Images.
Can I add more than one image at a time?
Yes. Add as many images as you need in the dialog, and they are all added to each selected item, in the order shown, at the placement you chose.
Can I make the new image the main photo?
Yes - choose Before the current images, or Insert at position 1. Keep in mind that on eBay the first image is the gallery photo buyers see in search results, so this is worth doing deliberately rather than by accident.
Will my live eBay listings update?
When you run it from the Listings Manager, the change is applied to the selected listings. When you run it from the Catalog, it depends on your Save Option: "catalog only" updates the product in 3Dsellers, while "catalog and revise linked listings" also pushes the change out to the linked listings.
What if a listing is already at 24 images?
It cannot take another photo, so it is listed in the process error report for that action. Nothing is removed from it.
Can I remove an image from many items in bulk afterwards?
There is no one-click bulk undo for this action. To take images off a lot of listings, use the CSV method: How to Remove Images in Bulk from Listings (CSV Method). This is the main reason to test on a small selection first.
How do I know when it has finished?
An "Actions in progress" indicator appears while it runs, and you get a notification when it completes, including partial completion with errors. You can keep using 3Dsellers in the meantime.
Where can I get images to add?
From your computer, from a direct image URL, or from your 3Dsellers Image Hosting library. If your photos are currently only on eBay, you can pull them into your library first with Save Images to Library.
