Duplicate drafts appear when the same listing is copied to 3Dsellers Drafts more than once: an ended listing that is relisted and ends again, a Copy to Drafts bulk action run twice, or two automations that both copy the same item. 3Dsellers now has three safeguards against this: the delete the draft once listed from the editor setting, the Skip listings that already have a draft option in the Copy to Drafts dialog, and the same option plus a built-in once-per-automation guard in Listings Automations. This article explains what each one does and when to use it.

Why do I get duplicate drafts in 3Dsellers?
Every copy to 3Dsellers Drafts creates a new draft record. Before these safeguards, nothing checked whether a draft of that listing already existed, so duplicates built up in three common ways:
Relist cycles. With Once a listing has ended, move it to 3Dsellers Drafts enabled (or an Item Ended automation with Copy to Drafts), a listing that ends, is relisted and ends again produced a fresh backup draft every time.
Running Copy to Drafts again. Selecting ended listings and running the Copy to Drafts bulk action a second time created a second copy of each, on top of any backup the automation had already made.
Publishing from Drafts without deleting the draft. Publishing a draft and keeping it, then later copying the live listing back to Drafts, leaves two drafts of the same item.
The three settings below close each of these gaps.
Setting 1: delete the draft once listed from the editor
This setting removes a draft automatically when you publish it from the listing editor, so a published item does not leave a copy behind in 3Dsellers Drafts.
Go to Listings Manager > Settings > General tab.
Under Draft Listings > When publishing a Draft, tick delete the draft once listed from the editor.
Click Save Changes.
How it behaves:
When you publish a draft with List Item inside the listing editor, the draft is deleted automatically.
In the bulk Publish and Schedule dialogs, this setting only sets the default. You can still change it for each publish.
Leave it off if you want to keep a backup copy of every published listing in Drafts.
Setting 2: Skip listings that already have a draft (Copy to Drafts bulk action)
The Copy to 3Dsellers drafts dialog has a Skip listings that already have a draft checkbox. With it ticked, 3Dsellers skips any selected listing that already has a draft on the target account instead of creating another copy.
In Listings, select the listings you want to copy (Active or Ended).
Open Bulk Actions and choose Copy to Drafts.
Choose the Target account and the number of Copies per listing.
Tick Skip listings that already have a draft.
Click Copy to drafts.
What to expect:
A listing is skipped for a target account that already holds a draft of it: a draft copied from this listing, or a draft with the same SKU. See the matching rules below.
Skipped listings are reported as skipped, not as errors. The bulk action finishes as Action Completed, the copied count excludes the skipped listings, and the notification tells you how many listings were skipped because they already have a draft on the target account. Use View Skipped in the notification to see which ones.
Leave the option off to create a new draft every time, exactly as before.
Setting 3: Skip listings that already have a draft (Automations)
The Copy to Drafts action in Listings Automations has the same Skip listings that already have a draft checkbox, and Automations also have a built-in guard so that one automation copies a given listing only once.
Go to Listings Manager > Automations and create or edit an automation.
Under Actions, add Copy to Drafts.
Choose the accounts to copy to and how many copies of each listing you want.
Tick Skip listings that already have a draft.
Click Save or Save And Activate.
How the two automation safeguards differ:

Switching an automation off and on again does not re-copy listings it already copied.
Deleting an automation and creating a new one resets the built-in guard. Tick Skip listings that already have a draft on the new automation to avoid re-copying.
Two different automations (for example an Item Ended automation and a sold-out Create Draft automation) can each create one draft of the same listing unless the skip option is ticked.
Leave the option off to create a new draft on every run.
How does 3Dsellers decide that a draft already exists?
When Skip listings that already have a draft is ticked, 3Dsellers looks at the target account's Drafts and treats a listing as already copied if either of these is true:
Copied from this listing. A draft on the target account was created by Copy to Drafts from this exact listing.
Same SKU. A draft on the target account has the same SKU as the listing. Listings without a SKU are matched by origin only, so a blank SKU never causes a match.
Good to know:
Only drafts count. A draft that has already been published to eBay does not block a new backup copy.
Drafts created before this option existed are recognised by SKU only. If your older drafts have no SKU, they are not treated as existing copies.
The check is per target account. Copying to two accounts checks each account's Drafts separately.

How do I clean up drafts that were already duplicated?
The safeguards prevent new duplicates; they do not remove drafts that already exist. To find and remove existing duplicates in 3Dsellers Drafts:
Open Listings > Drafts and sort or filter by SKU or title so copies sit next to each other.
Select the extra copies with the checkboxes and delete them with Bulk Actions.
For a large Drafts folder, export Drafts to CSV to spot duplicate SKUs in a spreadsheet first, then select and delete them in the Drafts grid.
⚠️ Deleting a draft cannot be undone. Before removing copies, check that the draft you keep is the most recent version of the listing, especially if the item was edited between copies.
Troubleshooting
I ticked Skip listings that already have a draft but still got duplicates
The existing drafts probably have no SKU, or a different SKU from the live listing. Drafts created before this option existed are matched by SKU only, so add a SKU to your listings and drafts, or clean up the old copies once and let the option keep it clean from then on.
The bulk action skipped everything and copied nothing
Every selected listing already had a draft on the target account. The run still shows Action Completed; the notification lists how many were skipped and View Skipped shows which. If you want a fresh copy anyway, run the action again with the option off, or delete the old drafts first.
My automation stopped copying a listing after I switched it off and on
That is the built-in guard: an automation copies each listing once, and turning it off and on keeps that memory. To copy the listing again from an automation, delete the automation and create it again, or copy the listing manually with Copy to Drafts.
I published from the editor and the draft is still there
Check that delete the draft once listed from the editor is ticked and saved in Listings Manager > Settings. It applies to List Item in the listing editor; in the bulk Publish and Schedule dialogs it only pre-fills the delete option, which may have been unticked for that publish.
FAQ
Does Skip listings that already have a draft delete anything?
No. Skip listings that already have a draft never deletes a draft. It only stops 3Dsellers from creating another copy of a listing that already has one on the target account.
Is Skip listings that already have a draft on by default?
No. The option is off by default in both the Copy to Drafts bulk action and the automation action, so existing behaviour is unchanged until you tick it. Automations created before the option existed also have it off until you edit them.
Are skipped listings counted as errors?
No. Skipped listings are reported separately from errors. The bulk action finishes as Action Completed, and the notification states how many listings were skipped because they already have a draft on the target account.
What if I set Copies per listing to more than 1?
Skip listings that already have a draft decides per listing and target account whether to copy at all. If the listing already has a draft there, it is skipped entirely; if not, the number of copies you asked for is created.
Can two automations still create two drafts of the same listing?
Yes, unless Skip listings that already have a draft is ticked. The built-in guard is per automation, so an Item Ended automation and a separate sold-out Create Draft automation can each create one draft. Ticking the skip option in the Copy to Drafts action also skips drafts made by other automations.
Does the Once a listing has ended, move it to 3Dsellers Drafts setting create duplicates on every relist?
Ended listings moved to Drafts by that setting are protected by the same once-per-listing guard as an Item Ended automation, so a listing that ends, is relisted and ends again is copied only once.
