Listings Automation Actions: Generate AI Title, Description, Listing Content & SEO Edit

Generate AI Title, Generate AI Description, Generate AI Listing Content and SEO Edit: what each writes, which to pick, and the fact that they overwrite existing content.

Written by Karolina Santiago

Four Listings Automation actions generate content with AI. They share the same behaviour and differ only in which fields they write.

The four actions

  • Generate AI Title - writes a new item title.

  • Generate AI Description - writes a new main description.

  • Generate AI Listing Content - the combined action. Choose any of: item title, main description, SEO meta description, SEO mobile description, SEO keywords. It can also apply a tag after generating, which is useful for tracking what it touched.

  • SEO Edit - works on the SEO fields, including the mobile description.

All four are eBay only and available on all Listings automation triggers, under Listings Manager → Automations → New Automation → Actions.

Which to pick

If you want more than one field generated, use Generate AI Listing Content and tick the fields, rather than stacking the single-field actions.

Typical setups

  • Optimise every new listing. Trigger: Item Listed. Action: Generate AI Listing Content, with the fields you want. Often combined with Apply Listing Designer Template.

  • Fill gaps only. Trigger: Item Listed. Filter: SEO is not present. Action: Generate AI Listing Content with the SEO fields ticked. Listings that already have SEO are left alone.

  • Backfill in batches. Trigger: Run By Schedule, with filters narrowing to a category or tag.

Good to know

  • These actions overwrite the fields they generate. Use filters so you only regenerate content you are willing to lose, and test on a small set first.

  • AI generation consumes AI credits from your plan.

  • The mobile description is written into the listing description. Running SEO passes repeatedly, or re-applying a Listing Designer template, does not stack duplicate blocks. The old one is removed first.

  • Check the Logs tab to confirm which listings were processed.
