What does the 3Dsellers Edit Category and Condition bulk action change?
The 3Dsellers Edit Category and Condition bulk action writes the same values to every selected eBay listing. It has three sections, and only the sections you tick are applied.
Category: the eBay marketplace category.
Store category: the category in your eBay Store.
Item condition: the condition and an optional condition note.
It works in the Active, Scheduled and 3Dsellers Drafts segments, for eBay listings.
It does not change package, weight or location. Use Edit eBay Package, Weight and Location in Bulk for those.
How do I open Edit Category and Condition in the 3Dsellers Listings Manager?
In the 3Dsellers Listings Manager, click Active, Scheduled or 3Dsellers Drafts under Listings Segments.
Tick the listings you want to change.
Click Bulk Actions, point to Inventory & Shipping, and click Edit Category and Condition.
How do I choose sections in the Edit category & condition dialog?
The dialog opens, titled Edit category & condition. Its first line says how many selected items it will change.
Tick the box in the header of each section you want to change: Category, Store category or Item condition. Click a header to open its fields.
Apply changes stays greyed out until at least one box is ticked.
How do I change the eBay category of many listings?
Tick Category in the Edit category & condition dialog. Under Change category to:, click the Select category box. Browse the eBay category tree, or type part of a category name in Type to search categories and pick a result.
You can also click the search icon next to the box. It opens Search Category, which also lists your recently used categories. Select one and click Choose Category.
How do I change the eBay Store category in bulk?
Tick Store category and open Change store category to:. It lists the categories of your eBay Store, with their sub-categories, and loads them when you open it. Type in the box to filter the list. To set a Store category on one listing instead, see How to assign an eBay Store Category when editing a listing.
How do I change the item condition of many eBay listings?
Tick Item condition and set:
Condition: a searchable list of eBay's condition names, such as New, Used, Like New and For Parts or Not Working. It starts on New.
Note: an optional condition description, up to 1000 characters, with a counter.
The bulk list shows all of eBay's condition names, whatever the category. Pick a condition that the listings' category accepts. The listing editor shows the conditions eBay lists for a category.
How do I confirm the bulk category and condition change with YES?
Click Apply changes. A second dialog, Are you sure?, says the action cannot be undone and names the number of selected items.
Type YES in Type YES to approve:. The Apply button stays disabled until you do.
Click Apply. A progress message appears, then a success message with the number of listings edited.
What are the Edit Category and Condition defaults?
Only the condition has a preset value in the 3Dsellers dialog; every other field waits for your choice.
Field | Starts as |
Change category to: | Empty (Select category) |
Change store category to: | Empty |
Condition: | New |
Note: | Empty, up to 1000 characters |
⚠️ Edit Category and Condition cannot be undone. Check the ticked sections and the values before you type YES and click Apply.
What are the Edit Category and Condition edge cases and limits?
A few cases change how the 3Dsellers Edit Category and Condition bulk action behaves:
Conditions by category. Some condition names are not accepted in every eBay category, but the bulk list shows them all.
Drafts. The action is also available in the 3Dsellers Drafts segment.
Other channels. The action is not offered for channels other than eBay.
Limits of Edit Category and Condition:
It will not apply a section unless its tick box is ticked.
It will not run in the All segment or on ended listings.
It will not edit item specifics: the dialog has no item specifics field. Check them after a category change, because the item specifics a listing needs follow its category.
It will not let you undo the change after you confirm with YES.
Troubleshooting Edit Category and Condition
