To change the price or inventory of many eBay variations at once, open the listing in the 3Dsellers editor, go to Variations, tick the variations, click Bulk Actions and choose Edit Price or Edit Inventory. You can also add and delete variations in the same section. Nothing reaches eBay until you save, publish or revise the listing. To change only some variations, edit inside the listing. To change every variation of many listings, use Bulk Actions on the listings grid with Include variations.
⚠️ ⚠️ In the 3Dsellers Variations bulk edit, every Apply changes the values the grid shows at that moment. If you run Edit Price with +4 twice, the ticked variations go up by 8. After you press Apply, check the Price or Inventory column before you do anything else, and do not run the same change again.
In this article:
Which way should I edit my variations?
3Dsellers has three ways to edit eBay variations. Pick the one that matches how many listings and variations you are changing.
Route | Use it when | Where |
Inside one listing | You want to change some variations of one listing, or add or delete variations | Listing editor, Variations section |
Listings grid Bulk Actions | You want the same change on every variation of many listings | Listings & Products, tick listings, Bulk Actions, Include variations |
CSV file | You want to change or delete variations by SKU for many rows | Import with a CSV file |
Where do I find the Variations section?
In 3Dsellers, go to Listings & Products and open the listing in the editor.
Go to the Variations section.
Look at the toolbar above the grid. It can show Create Variations (it reads Edit Variations once the listing has variations), Bulk Actions, Reorder Variations, Generate Variation SKUs, a filter for variation attributes and a Search by title or SKU box.
Bulk Actions appears only when the listing has at least one variation.
Generate Variation SKUs appears only when at least one variation has no SKU.
If the eBay category does not allow variations, the editor shows Variations are disabled for this eBay category.
A listing with no variations shows This listing has no variations. Use Create Variations to sell options like size or color under one listing.
Each variation row in the 3Dsellers grid has a checkbox, an image, the variation's options and SKU, a Price column and an Inventory column. You can type in the Price and Inventory cells of a single row without opening any dialog. The row icons include Copy Variation, Edit variation sku and Remove Variation.
How do I change the price or inventory of several variations at once?
Use Bulk Actions in the Variations section of the 3Dsellers editor. The same steps work for price and for inventory.
In the Variations section, tick the checkbox of each variation you want to change. The checkbox in the header selects every row on the page.
If you filter or search with Search by title or SKU, the select-all link covers only the variations you see. Changing the search text clears your ticks, so search first and tick second.
Click Bulk Actions and choose Edit Price or Edit Inventory. These are the two actions in the menu.
Read the first line of the dialog: This change applies to the N selected variation(s). Check that N is the number you meant.
Pick one of the two rows, fill it in, and read the Example line under it. Details are in the next section.
Click Apply once. The dialog closes and the grid shows the new values. Cancel closes the dialog without changing anything.
What do the options in the bulk edit dialog do?
The 3Dsellers bulk edit dialog for Variations has two rows. Choose one: you either change the current values by an amount or set them all to one value.
Edit Price
increase / decrease ... price by: pick increase or decrease, type a number, then pick % or the currency symbol. The default is increase.
Set price to: every ticked variation gets the same price.
Automatically round up to end with .99 (ex 9.83 become 9.99). This box is off until you tick it.
The Example line shows what a price of $20.00 becomes. With a fixed price and rounding, it reads Every selected variation is set to the new price.
The 3Dsellers hint under the price rows reads: Applied to each variation's own price and rounded to 2 decimals. Nothing goes below 0.01. Each variation changes from its own price, so variations with different prices stay different after an increase.
Edit Inventory
increase / decrease ... inventory by: pick increase or decrease, then type a number of units.
Set inventory to: every ticked variation gets the same inventory.
The hint reads Applied to each variation's own inventory. Nothing goes below 0. Inventory is rounded to whole numbers.
The 3Dsellers Apply button stays disabled until the number is valid. For an increase or decrease the number must be above 0. For Set price to it must be at least 0.01. For Set inventory to it can be 0.
How do I add or delete variations?
Add variations or options
In the Variations section of the 3Dsellers editor, click Create Variations, or Edit Variations if the listing already has variations.
Read the dialog text: Create up to five variation options for this product. Enter the variation options and values in the order they should appear in the listing.
Choose an option name such as Color from the list, or type your own. Then pick or type the values. Press Enter to add each value.
To add another option, click Add Variation Options.
Click Apply.
When you click Apply, 3Dsellers rebuilds the grid with every combination of your values. Combinations that already existed keep their SKU, price and stock. A new combination gets the first positive price found among the existing variations (or the listing price), a quantity of 1, no SKU and no image. Set the new prices, quantities and SKUs afterwards, for example with Bulk Actions. For custom option names, see How to Add Variations to eBay Listings (Custom Options Too).
Delete variations
One variation: click the Remove Variation icon in its row and confirm with Remove. The dialog reads Remove this variation from the listing?
A whole value or option: remove it in Edit Variations. Combinations that used it are dropped.
The last variation: the dialog reads This is the last variation. Removing it turns this into a single-item listing. Removing every variation shows This removes every variation and turns this into a single-item listing. with a Remove button.
The 3Dsellers Bulk Actions menu has no delete action, so variations are removed one at a time in the editor. To delete many variations by SKU, use a CSV file: see eBay CSV - How to delete individual Variations and How to Add or Remove Variations from a Listing Using CSV Import.
Reorder and generate SKUs
Reorder Variations changes the order of the variations in the 3Dsellers editor. Generate Variation SKUs gives a SKU to the variations that have none; variations that already have a SKU are left alone.
💡 eBay drops variations that have no SKU. If some variations in a listing have a SKU and some do not, 3Dsellers blocks publishing in the New View editor and shows an error naming the variations. Give every variation a SKU, or use Generate Variation SKUs, then publish again.
When does the change reach eBay?
The 3Dsellers Variations bulk edit changes the grid in the editor only. Apply does not send anything to eBay. The new prices, inventory and the added or deleted variations reach eBay when you save, publish or revise the listing.
Press Apply once in the bulk edit dialog.
Check the Price or Inventory column for the ticked variations.
Save, publish or revise the listing as you normally do.
If you want to be sure, open the listing on eBay and look at the variation prices. eBay's own revision history for an item shows each price change eBay received.
If you leave the 3Dsellers editor without saving, the grid changes are not sent to eBay.
How do I change every variation of many listings?
Use Bulk Actions on the 3Dsellers listings grid instead of the Variations section. This route changes whole listings, not individual variations.
Go to Listings & Products and pick a segment such as Active.
Tick the listings. The footer shows Total Selected Listings.
Click Bulk Actions, then type the action name in the search box and pick Edit Price and Selling Details.
The dialog Edit price & selling details opens with The chosen action will be applied to 2 selected items. (the number matches your ticks). It lists Price, Cost, Floor & ceiling price, Best offer, Private listing and Profit.
Open the area you want to change, for example Price, and fill it in. The panels for Price and Profit have an Include variations box. Tick it to apply the change to the variations of the ticked listings as well.
Click Apply changes.
For inventory, type Edit Inventory in the same search box and pick Edit Inventory/Warehouse.
The 3Dsellers dialog is called Edit inventory / warehouse. It can show an Up to Qty Status switch and a Set up-to-quantity to box with units. For what Up to Quantity means and for the Include variations option on warehouse stock, see Bulk Edit eBay Inventory (Up to Qty) and Warehouse - Listing Tool.
The full listing-level steps are in Bulk Edit Price and Selling Details - Listing Tool and Bulk Edit eBay Inventory (Up to Qty) and Warehouse - Listing Tool. This route cannot change only some variations of a listing. For that, edit inside the listing.
Troubleshooting
My variation prices went up twice
In the 3Dsellers Variations bulk edit, each press of Apply changes the current values again, so pressing it twice applies the change twice. If you have not saved yet, leave the editor without saving and open the listing again, then repeat the change once. If you already saved, fix the prices with Set price to or by typing in the Price cells, check the Price column, then save and revise again.
I changed the price but eBay still shows the old one
The 3Dsellers Variations bulk edit changes the editor grid only. Save, publish or revise the listing to send the change to eBay.
Publishing is blocked because of variations
3Dsellers blocks publishing in the New View editor when some variations have no SKU, because eBay drops variations without a SKU. Use Generate Variation SKUs or type the SKUs, then publish again.
eBay rejects the variations I added
eBay does not accept variations on a listing that was published without them. See eBay Error: "Invalid Multi-SKU item id supplied with variations.".
