Overview
The Edit Product Categories bulk action lets you assign or change the internal 3Dsellers product category for multiple products at once.
Product Categories in 3Dsellers are internal labels used to organize your catalog. They are not the same as eBay or Shopify categories — they help you group products for filtering, bulk actions, and reporting inside the platform.
When to Use This
You've imported a batch of products and need to assign categories to them
You want to reorganize your catalog structure by moving products to a new category
You need to create a new category on the fly and assign products to it immediately
You want to apply categories to variation child SKUs at the same time as the parent
How to Use It
Go to Products Catalog and select the products you want to update
Click Bulk Actions → Edit Product Categories
Type a category name in the search box — existing categories will appear as suggestions
Press Enter to create a new category if it doesn't exist yet
Enable Include variations to also assign the category to child SKUs
Confirm to apply

Use Case Examples
Example 1: Categorize a new import
You've just imported 200 products from eBay and they all show as "Missing Products Category". Select all 200, bulk assign the category "Auto Parts", and your catalog is organized instantly.
Example 2: Create and assign a new category
You want a new category called "Summer Collection 2026". Type it in the field — since it doesn't exist yet, press Enter to create it and assign it to all selected products in one step.
Example 3: Reassign a category
You had products in "Electronics - General" but want to move them to "Electronics - Cables". Select the relevant products and assign the new category in bulk.
💡 Use product categories in combination with filters to create powerful segments. For example, filter by category to quickly select all products in a group before running another bulk action.
Product categories in 3Dsellers do more than just organise your catalog — they control how products are published to each sales channel.
Each catalog category needs to be mapped to the corresponding category on eBay, Amazon, Shopify, or any other connected marketplace. Without this mapping, products may publish to the wrong category or fail to list entirely.
