Overview

Linked and Unlinked Listings in 3Dsellers control how product changes in your Product Catalog affect your live marketplace listings.

In short:

  • Linked listings automatically receive product updates from the Catalog

  • Unlinked listings are managed independently and do not receive product info updates

  • Inventory syncing continues regardless of link status

This gives you full flexibility to decide which listings stay centralized and which ones you manage separately.

Linked Listings

A listing is linked when it is connected to a Catalog product.

What Happens When a Listing Is Linked

  • Automatic updates
Changes made in the Catalog (title, description, images, attributes, price) update the listing automatically.

  • Centralized management
Update product data once in the Catalog and apply it to all linked listings across channels.

  • Consistent data
    Keeps product information consistent everywhere.

  • Inventory sync
Inventory continues to sync based on your Inventory Management settings.

Unlinked Listings

A listing is unlinked when it is detached from the Catalog product.

What Happens When a Listing Is Unlinked

  • No product info updates
Catalog changes do not update the listing’s title, description, images, or attributes.

  • Independent control
You can edit the listing directly in the Listing Tool or on the marketplace.

  • Channel-specific customization
Useful when a channel needs different content, pricing, or formatting.

⚠️ Important Inventory Note:
Unlinking a listing does not stop inventory automation.
Inventory updates continue based on your Inventory Management settings and SKU matching.

Where to Manage Linked and Unlinked Listings

Accessing the Listings Tab

  1. Open the editor of the product you want to manage

  2. Click the Listings tab

This tab shows all marketplace listings associated with the product, the Linking Status and more.

Understanding the Listings Table

The Listings table provides a full overview of how each listing is managed.

Key Columns Explained

  • Listing Status
    Live, Draft, Ended, etc.

  • Channel
Marketplace name, listing title, price, and displayed quantity.

  • Actions
Options to refresh, edit, link, or unlink the listing.

Linking a Listing to a Catalog Product

Linking connects a listing to a Catalog product so it receives updates automatically.

Automatic Linking

Listings are automatically linked when:

  • You publish a product from the Catalog

  • You create a listing from a Catalog product

  • The listing SKU matches a Catalog product SKU

Manual Linking

  • To manually link a listing inside the Product Editor:

    1. Open the product in Products Catalog

    2. Go to the Listings tab

    3. Find the listing

    4. Click Link in the Linked Status or Actions column

    5. Confirm the action clicking to Save or Save & Exit

  • To manually link a listing from the Quick Editor view:

    1. Click in the channel icon

    2. On the top right of the Quick Editor pop up click to enable/disable the Linked Status

    3. Click to Save & Exit or Save & Revise (if you want to push updated to the live listing)

The listing will now receive Catalog updates.

Bulk Linking/Unlinking

You can also link/unlink listings in bulk from Products:

  1. Select the Listings you want to link/unlink

  2. Click on Bulk Actions

  3. Choose the Link/Unlink Product from Listings

  4. Select the channel

  5. Choose if you want to Link or Unlink

How to Verify a Listing Is Linked

  • The Linked Status column shows Link

  • The listing SKU matches the Catalog SKU

  • A test Catalog change updates the listing

Unlinking a Listing from the Catalog

Unlinking allows you to manage a listing independently.

When to Unlink a Listing

  • You need channel-specific content or pricing

  • You want to run a marketplace-only promotion

  • You are testing changes on one channel

  • You are managing legacy listings separately

How to Unlink a Listing

  1. Open the product in Products Catalog

  2. Go to the Listings tab

  3. Find the listing

  4. Turn the Linking Status toggle OFF

  5. Click to Save

📌 Unlinking does not delete the listing or remove it from the marketplace.

What Syncs When a Listing Is Linked

Product Information

  • Title

  • Description

  • Images

  • Attributes (brand, category, condition, etc.)

  • Custom attributes

Pricing

  • Listing price (based on Catalog and Mapping Templates)

  • MSRP / Wholesale price (if configured)

Inventory

  • Quantity and stock levels (based on Inventory Management settings)

What Does NOT Sync

  • Shipping policies

  • Listing format or duration

  • Channel-specific settings

  • Listing status (live, ended, draft)

  • Channel SKU (if different)

Managing Multiple Listings per Product

You can mix linked and unlinked listings for the same product.

Example

Product: Colorful Shoes

  • Shopify → Unlinked

  • eBay US → Linked

  • WooCommerce → Linked

Result:

  • Catalog updates apply to eBay US and WooCommerce

  • Shopify remains unchanged

Common Use Cases

👉 Use Case 1: Full Multi-Channel Sync

Keep all listings linked to maintain consistency across channels.

👉 Use Case 2: Channel-Specific Content

Unlink one channel to customize content without affecting others.

👉 Use Case 3: Testing Changes

Unlink one listing, test changes, then relink when ready.

👉 Use Case 4: Marketplace Promotions

Unlink a listing to run a temporary sale on one channel.

👉 Use Case 5: Legacy Listings

Keep older listings unlinked while transitioning to Catalog-based management.

Best Practices

When to Link

  • Standard products

  • New listings

  • When consistency matters

  • When managing at scale

When to Unlink

  • Channel-specific requirements

  • Promotions and testing

  • Legacy or special listings

Ongoing Management

  • Review link status periodically

  • Document why listings are unlinked

  • Monitor behavior after unlinking

Important Inventory Rules (Read This)

  • Inventory sync is independent of link status

  • Unlinking a listing does not stop inventory updates

  • Inventory sync works based on SKU matching

  • Product info sync is the only thing controlled by link status

Changing Link Status Later

Linking an Unlinked Listing

  • Enables Catalog → listing updates going forward

Unlinking a Linked Listing

  • Stops future Catalog updates

  • Does not reverse past updates

  • Does not trigger immediate changes

Troubleshooting

Linked Listing Not Updating

  • Verify link status

  • Confirm SKU match

  • Check mapping template

  • Review sync settings

  • Use refresh action

Unlinked Listing Still Updating

  • Confirm unlink status

  • Remember inventory updates are expected

  • Contact support if product info updates persist

Cannot Link or Unlink

  • Verify listing status

  • Refresh the page and try again
