"Error: A mixture of Self Hosted and EPS pictures are not allowed"

What does "A mixture of Self Hosted and EPS pictures are not allowed" mean?

This error says that new product photos were added to a listing, but some images are hosted on eBay, and other images are not hosted on eBay. This may happen if:

  • The listing is active on eBay,

  • and the listing uses eBay to host the product Images,

  • and more images are added from the computer or URL

Why does this error rarely happen on Seller Hub?

This is a technical curveball from eBay API (how we connect to your eBay account). eBay can usually host new photos when editing a listing, preventing this error, but our software must work with images differently.

How to Fix: "Error: A mixture of Self Hosted and EPS pictures are not allowed"

There are 2 ways to fix this error:

Option 1) Automatically with Drafts & 3Dsellers Image Hosting:

If the items are Drafts and not published yet, follow these steps to prevent this error from happening again. (Note: this will use 3Dsellers Image Hosting instead of eBay). If the listings are already active, proceed to Option 2

Step 1: Upload your images to 3Dsellers Image Hosting (with the listing's SKU)

Pro Tip: Save folders of images as .ZIP files with the Item SKU as the file name. When you upload the .ZIP to 3Dsellers Image Hosting, you can automatically apply the SKU to all the images in the .ZIP file.

Step 2: Use the Listings Manager to select the Drafts and choose Auto Image Assign from the Bulk Actions menu:

This will replace the eBay-hosted images with 3Dsellers' hosted images and allow you to add new images to the listing without the error happening again.

Option 2) Manually in the Listing Editor:

Step 1: Download a backup of all the current photos.

Step 2: Remove all photos.

Step 3: Choose an image host.

Pro Tip: 3Dsellers' Hosted images will

  • prevent the error when adding new photos,

  • and your photos will not get deleted after the listing ends.

Step 4: Reupload the images that were downloaded in Step 1.

Necessary: If you keep eBay Hosted images, ensure to upload new images before publishing changes.
