What does "Sending Rules" do?

  • Sending Rules lets you customise which orders an Auto Message is sent for.

  • We will review how it works with simple, individual examples.

Just a friendly reminder:

Do not let multiple messages target the same item/order with the same sending trigger (Item sold, Item shipped, etc.). Sending errors may occur.

Combine filters for listings/orders into Rule Groups.

The Rule above targets listings with "custom text" or "custom name" in the title.

Combine other Rule Groups to exclude or target more-specific data.

Likewise, the Rule above targets listings with "custom text" or "custom name" in the title.

But now, the new Rule Group will only send the message if the customer did not submit an Order Note/ Checkout Message.

This works great to collect missing instructions automatically.

Pro Tip: Send a Thank You message to buyers who did submit a checkout message โ€” Create a new message with the same rule, but change Checkout Message to "Is Present"

Mind the OR and AND operators

AND and OR operators will yield completely different results from each other in most cases. Our system is also open to setting the rule any way you'd like; however, this allows you to set a rule to something non-logical.

For example, use the AND operator to exclude multiple SKUs containing specific text (SKU does not contain).

The result is that the message will not send for SKUs containing the text:

If OR is used, each "does not contain" filter will allow the other SKUs you don't want.

The result is that the message sends for each of the SKUs instead of excluding them:
