Image Hosting: Tag, Find and Export Listing Photos

Tag, filter, search and export the photos in your 3Dsellers Image Hosting library, then use them on your eBay listings.

Written by Amit Fidelman

3Dsellers Image Hosting is your library of listing photos. Open it to upload images, label them with tags, find them with the Filter and the search box, and then copy links, download, export or delete them. The library has no folders: it is one list, and tags are how you group photos, for example one tag per consignor or per product line.

⚠️ In the Image tags window, the trash icon next to a tag in the tag list deletes that tag itself and removes it from all tagged images. It does not remove the tag from only the images you ticked. To take a tag off selected images, pick Remove tags under Select action and click Apply instead.

Where do I find Image Hosting?

  1. In the left sidebar of 3Dsellers, open Listings & Products.

  2. Open the Listings Manager group and click Image Hosting. The page heading reads Image Hosting.

  3. Use the toolbar across the top: Filter, Bulk Actions, + Upload Image, + Upload Folder, Upload from URL, and the search box (Search file name...) on the right.

Where it is on the full 3Dsellers screen, outlined in blue: the 3Dsellers Image Hosting page with the Filter, Bulk Actions, Upload Image, Upload Folder, Upload from URL buttons and the search box highlighted above the image table.

In 3Dsellers Image Hosting, each image is one row with these columns:

  • Preview - a thumbnail. Click it to open a larger preview.

  • File Name and Uploaded At - the newest images come first, and Uploaded At is the column you can sort.

  • SKU and Position - type a SKU and the image's order for that SKU. They save when you click out of the field.

  • Tags - the labels on the image, plus a + Tag link to add more.

  • Actions - the link icon (Copy Link To Image), the download icon (Download Image) and the trash icon (Delete Image).

Can I make folders in Image Hosting?

No - 3Dsellers Image Hosting does not have folders. The library is one flat list. If you used folders in another tool, for example one folder per consignor, create one tag per consignor instead. A tag is a coloured label with a name. You can put several tags on one image, filter by tag, and select every image with a tag in one go.

The + Upload Folder button is not a folder system either. It opens the same upload window as + Upload Image, set up to take a zip file of folders. See How do I upload images and tag them as they arrive?

How do I tag one image?

  1. In 3Dsellers Image Hosting, find the image's row and click + Tag in the Tags column. If the row already has tags, the link shows +.

  2. In the box that opens (Type to search or create), pick an existing tag, or type a new name to create one.

  3. Click Save. Click Cancel to close the box without changing anything.

Each tag on a row appears as a coloured chip. Click the x on a chip to take that tag off the image. This saves straight away, with no Save button.

How do I tag many images at once?

  1. In 3Dsellers Image Hosting, tick the checkbox on each image you want. Bulk Actions turns on once at least one image is ticked.

  2. Click Bulk Actions and choose Add / Remove Tags.

  1. In the Image tags window, read the line The chosen action will be applied to N selected images. to check how many images you are about to change.

  2. Under Select tag, pick a tag or type a new name to create one.

  3. Under Select action, choose Add tags or Remove tags.

  4. Click Apply. The button stays greyed out until you choose a tag.

The Image tags window in 3Dsellers Image Hosting with Select tag, the Remove unused tags button, the Add tags and Remove tags options, and Cancel and Apply.

Two buttons in this window work on the whole tag list, not only on your selection:

  • Remove unused tags deletes every tag that is not on any image.

  • The trash icon beside each tag in the Select tag list deletes that tag and removes it from all tagged images. Its confirmation reads This action will delete the tag and remove it from all tagged images.

The tag list open in the Image tags window of 3Dsellers Image Hosting, with a trash icon at the right of every tag.

Deleting a tag does not delete your images. The images stay in 3Dsellers Image Hosting without that label.

How do I filter and search my images?

3Dsellers Image Hosting has two ways to narrow the list: the Filter button and the search box.

  1. Click Filter. The first drop-down lists File Name, SKU, Upload date and Tags.

  2. Choose what to filter on. For Tags, the second drop-down offers one of, not one of, has value and is empty.

  3. For one of and not one of, pick tags in the Select tags box.

  4. Click Add Filter. The active filter shows as a chip above the table. Use its x to remove it, or its pencil to edit it (the button then reads Update Filter).

  • Search file name... is for file names. To find images by SKU or tag, use the SKU or Tags filter.

  • Tags is empty shows images that have no tag yet, which is a quick way to find photos you still need to label.

How do I select every image that matches a filter?

  1. In 3Dsellers Image Hosting, apply your filter or search first.

  2. Tick the checkbox in the table header. The header text changes to N items are selected. and a link Select all matching items appears.

  3. Click Select all matching items. The header then reads All N items selected. with a Clear selection link.

The matching set includes your active search and filters, so Bulk Actions such as Add / Remove Tags, the exports and Delete apply to exactly the images in that result. For example, filter Tags one of one consignor's tag, select all matching, and the next bulk action covers only that consignor's images. Check the number in the header before you run it.

How do I upload images and tag them as they arrive?

  1. In 3Dsellers Image Hosting, click + Upload Image (or + Upload Folder).

  2. Under 1. Choose the SKU assign method, pick one of the five cards: Don't Assign, Assign By Fix SKU, Assign By Image Name, Assign By Folder Name or Advanced Mapping Assign. These methods are explained in Enhanced Image Assignment Tool: Complete Guide to All Assignment Methods.

  3. Under 2. Tags (optional), pick or type a tag. Every image in this upload gets that tag, for example a consignor name.

  4. Under 3. Choose images to upload, add your files, then click Save.

Where it is on the full 3Dsellers screen, outlined in blue: the upload window in 3Dsellers Image Hosting with the five SKU assign method cards, the limits line, and the Tags (optional) step highlighted.

  • + Upload Image opens on Assign By Fix SKU. + Upload Folder opens on Assign By Folder Name.

  • Uploads run in the background. The Changes in progress button shows while 3Dsellers is working, and the list refreshes when it finishes.

What does Upload Folder do?

In 3Dsellers Image Hosting, Upload Folder takes a zip file that contains your folders, not a folder from your computer's file picker. With Assign By Folder Name, the window shows Upload Zip file and Upload Zip file from URL. With Don't Assign or Advanced Mapping Assign, switch the choice from Upload Images to Folder Upload to get the same buttons.

  4. Click Upload. A message tells you how many images were uploaded.

If a line is not a valid link, 3Dsellers shows how many invalid URLs it found. Lines with only a dash are ignored. For more on hosting images and the upload limits, see Image Hosting, Storage, and Upload Limits.

Troubleshooting

I deleted a tag and it disappeared from all my images.

In 3Dsellers Image Hosting, the trash icon beside a tag in the tag list deletes the tag itself and removes it from all tagged images. The images stay in the library. To take a tag off only some images, tick them, open Bulk Actions > Add / Remove Tags, choose the tag, pick Remove tags and click Apply. To bring the tag back, create it again and re-apply it.

The 3Dsellers Image Hosting search box is for file names. To find images by SKU or tag, use Filter and choose SKU or Tags.

Bulk Actions is greyed out.

Tick at least one image first. Bulk Actions in 3Dsellers Image Hosting turns on when a row is ticked.

I get "You can select only 24 images".

When you add separate image files in the 3Dsellers Image Hosting upload window, you can add at most 24 to one upload. Upload in several rounds, or put your images in a zip file and use Folder Upload.
