Overview

Catalog Channel Template Mapping in 3Dsellers allows you to control how product data from your Product Catalog is mapped to the fields required by each selling channel.

Each marketplace requires specific information such as:

  • Title

  • Price

  • Images

  • Brand

  • Identifiers

  • Category attributes

  • Compliance information

Mapping templates automatically take the data from your catalog product properties and send it to the correct listing fields on the selected channel.

This allows you to publish many products quickly while ensuring that listings meet the requirements of each marketplace.

You manage mapping templates at: Attribute Mapping Templates page.

Default Channel Templates

When you enable the Product Catalog for a channel and import products, 3Dsellers automatically creates a default mapping template for that channel.

This default template already includes common mappings such as:

  • Product Title → Listing Title

  • Price → Listing Price

  • Images → Listing Images

  • Product identifiers → Channel identifier fields

The default template allows you to start publishing products immediately without configuring every field manually.

You can update the template at any time to:

  • Change mappings

  • Add fallback values

  • Create rules

  • Configure category-specific attributes

Creating Multiple Templates

You can create multiple templates for the same channel depending on your listing strategy.

For example:

  • Separate templates for Buy It Now and Auction listings on eBay

  • Templates with different pricing logic

  • Templates with different compliance or attribute mappings

Templates are selected when publishing products to a channel, allowing you to control how product data is mapped for each listing.

Important: Policies Are Not Part of Templates

Listing policies such as:

  • Payment Policy

  • Shipping Policy

  • Return Policy

are not configured inside the mapping template.

Instead, policies are selected when publishing products to a channel together with the mapping template.

Understanding Mapping Templates

Mapping templates define how your catalog product data is transformed and sent to a selling channel.

Each template is associated with:

Channel

The marketplace or selling account where the listing will be published.

Example:

  • eBay US

  • eBay Motors

  • Amazon

  • Walmart

Listing Type (when applicable)

Some channels support different listing formats.

For example, eBay templates may be created for:

  • Buy It Now

  • Auction

Different listing types may include different required fields such as starting price or duration.

Accessing Mapping Templates

To access mapping templates:

  1. Log in to your 3Dsellers account

This opens the Attribute Mapping page where you can:

  • Edit existing templates

  • Create new templates

  • Duplicate templates

  • Delete templates

Mapping Interface Structure

The mapping template interface is divided into two main areas.

Left Panel – Mapping Sections

The left panel contains all the mapping sections available for the selected channel.

These sections organize fields into logical groups such as:

  • General settings

  • Compliance

  • Custom Specifics

The available sections depend on the selected channel.

For example, eBay templates include an eBay Categories section where you can view and map category-specific attributes.

Right Panel – Field Mapping Configuration

The right panel shows the fields for the selected section.

For each field you will see:

  • The channel field name

  • The value that will be sent

  • A description of the field requirements

  • Controls to configure mapping options

This is where you configure how data from the catalog is used to populate listing fields.

Main Mapping Sections

While the exact sections vary by channel, most templates include the following types of sections.

Item Information

Contains the core product fields required by the marketplace, such as title, brand, identifiers, and condition-related information.

Pricing

Defines how pricing values are sent to the channel, including listing price and other price-related fields depending on the listing format.

Description

Controls how product descriptions and additional text content are sent to the channel.

Media

Defines how product images from the catalog are mapped to the channel listing.

& others.

eBay-Specific Sections

eBay templates include additional sections that allow you to manage category-related attributes.

eBay Categories

This section allows you to browse or search eBay categories and configure mappings for category-specific attributes.

Different categories may require different fields (called Item Specifics), and these attributes appear here so they can be mapped to your catalog data.

Variation Settings

Under each Category section, you can find the Variation Settings section, which is used when your catalog products include variations such as size, color, or material.

In this section you map the variation types from your 3Dsellers catalog to the variation types supported by the selling channel.

For example:

3Dsellers Variation Type

Channel Variation Type

Color

Color

Size

Size

This mapping ensures that product variations are correctly structured and displayed on the marketplace listing.

If your products do not use variations, this section can usually be left unchanged.

Configuring Field Mappings

Each field in the template can be mapped to a data source from your catalog.

To configure a mapping, click the edit icon next to the field.

Mapping Options

When mapping a field, you can choose different sources for the value.

Product Attribute

Use values from your catalog product data, including:

  • Product Property (such as Product Title, SKU, Price)

  • Custom Attributes created in your catalog

  • Variation Type Value for variation products

  • Current Warehouse values for warehouse-specific data

This is the most common type of mapping.

Free Text

Allows you to enter a static value manually.

This value will be sent to the channel for all listings using this template.

Example:

Brand → Free Text → Generic

Rules

Rules allow you to transform or calculate values dynamically based on conditions.

For example:

  • Increase price by a percentage

  • Use a value only if certain conditions are met

  • Apply different logic based on warehouse or product attributes

Rules are useful for more advanced automation.

Lookup List

Lookup lists allow you to convert values from your catalog into different values required by the channel.

Example:

Catalog condition → eBay condition value

New → New
Used → Used
Reconditioned → Good - Refurbished

Lookup lists are useful when marketplaces require specific value formats.

Fallback Values

Most mappings support fallback values.

A fallback is used when the main mapping source does not contain a value.

Example:

Primary mapping: Product Property / Subtitle
Fallback: Product Property / Product Title

If the subtitle is empty, the system will automatically use the product title.

Previewing Mappings

The mapping interface includes a Preview Product feature.

This allows you to test your template with a real catalog product.

To preview a mapping:

  1. Click Preview product

  2. Type the Product SKU or Title if you want to search for a specific product

  3. Select it

  4. Review how values are generated for each field

This helps verify that mappings, rules, and fallbacks are working correctly.

AI Autofill for Required Fields

Mapping templates include an Autofill required fields with AI option that helps automatically populate required listing fields when they are missing values.

When enabled, the system analyzes the product data in your catalog and uses AI to generate appropriate values for required attributes that are not mapped or do not have a value.

This feature can help fill fields such as:

  • Brand

  • Model

  • Color

  • Item Condition

  • Category-specific attributes

To use this feature:

  1. Open a mapping template.

  2. Click Autofill required fields with AI in the top-right area of the mapping interface.

  3. The system will analyze the selected category and generate suggested values for required fields.

Before clicking to Autofill with AI:

After clicking to Autofill with AI:

The generated values can then be reviewed and adjusted before saving the template.

Tip: AI autofill is especially useful when configuring mappings for new categories that have many required attributes.

Best Practices

Start With Required Fields

Ensure all required fields have mappings before configuring optional fields.

Use Fallbacks

Fallback values help prevent missing information in listings.

Test With Preview

Always preview mappings with sample products before publishing listings.

Keep Templates Organized

Use clear template names such as:

eBay US Buy It Now
eBay Auction
Amazon Standard

This makes it easier to select the correct template when publishing products.
