eBay Listing Editor: New View vs Old View, Save, Schedule

Pick the right view in the 3Dsellers eBay listing editor, avoid losing unsaved edits, and use Save As Draft, Publish Changes or Schedule Listing.

Written by Amit Fidelman

The 3Dsellers eBay listing editor has two views: Old View, which opens until you choose New View, and New View (BETA). Switch with the New View / Old View switch at the top right of the Edit eBay Listing window. The bottom bar depends on the listing's status and the view: Save As Draft, Publish Changes (an Active listing in Old View) and, for drafts and new listings, Schedule Listing. Choose your view before you start editing, because unsaved changes are lost when you switch.

⚠️ Unsaved changes will be lost when you switch between New View and Old View in the 3Dsellers eBay listing editor. Choose your view before you start editing. If you need to keep your edits, save them first, for example with Save As Draft, and wait for the save confirmation.

💡 Open Listings → Active and open any eBay listing to see the switch.

Where is the New View and Old View switch?

The switch is at the top right of the 3Dsellers eBay listing editor, left of the close (X) button. In Old View, the Generate Listing button is beside it.

  1. Open Listings and open an eBay listing, for example one under Active. The editor opens in a window called Edit eBay Listing.

  2. Look at the top right. The switch (1 in the picture) has two options: New View with a BETA badge, and Old View. The option with dark text on a white background is the view you are in. In the picture, that is Old View.

  3. Click the other option to switch views. Unsaved changes are lost when you switch.

In Old View, Choose View: with Tabs and Accordion sits under the switch (2 in the picture, at the left end of the Choose View: row). It only changes the layout of the sections. It does not switch you to New View.

Will I lose my work if I switch views?

Yes, unsaved changes are lost. While you are in Old View in the 3Dsellers eBay listing editor, point at New View and 3Dsellers shows Unsaved changes will be lost when switching views. So switch first and edit second.

The New View and Old View switch in the 3Dsellers listing editor, with New View outlined and the message Unsaved changes will be lost when switching views shown below it.

On a new listing that you created with AI and have not saved yet, the message is different: This listing will be saved as a draft so New View can open it.

Which view should I use?

The 3Dsellers eBay listing editor opens in Old View until you choose New View. After that, it opens the view you chose last in this browser. Listings for channels other than eBay open in New View only.

  • In Old View, the optional item specifics have an eye icon (Hide this field), and Show hidden fields (N) brings hidden ones back. 3Dsellers saves hiding for your whole company, per category.

What do the buttons at the bottom of the editor do?

The bottom bar of the 3Dsellers eBay listing editor changes with the listing's status and with the view. On an Active eBay listing in Old View, the buttons from left to right are (1) Revert, (2) Cancel, (3) Sell Globally, (4) Save As Draft and (5) Publish Changes. The last two are the buttons that save or publish your edits.

Four icon buttons sit at the right end of the same bar. From left to right they are:

  • Calculator - Calculate Fees. It opens a dialog titled Check listing fee.

  • Eye - Preview listing.

  • Printer - Print SKU Label.

  • Trash can - its tooltip reads End listing on an Active listing and Delete on other statuses. On an Active listing it only appears for users who are allowed to end listings.

  • After a save, Old View shows Draft saved successfully and New View shows Draft saved. After scheduling, you see Draft was successfully scheduled for listing.

  • List Item and Schedule Listing check your listing first. Old View can stop on a problem with variation SKUs, the condition, UPC/EAN/ISBN or required item specifics, with a message that starts Nothing was saved. New View can stop on mixed SKUs, a Best Offer accept amount below the decline amount, or variations it does not support.

How do I schedule an eBay listing from the editor?

Schedule Listing in the 3Dsellers eBay listing editor sets a publish date for a new listing, a duplicate or a draft. In New View, Schedule Listing is for eBay listings only.

  1. Open a new listing, a duplicate or a draft in the editor. Drafts are in the 3Dsellers Drafts segment in Listings.

  2. Click Schedule Listing in the bottom bar. A dialog called Schedule Listing opens.

  3. Next to Publish date:, use Select date and time to pick when the listing should go live.

  4. Check the Timezone: shown in the dialog.

  5. Under Scheduling System:, choose eBay or 3Dsellers. The dialog starts on 3Dsellers.

  6. If you chose 3Dsellers, decide whether to tick Delete draft after listing:. Its starting value comes from your account settings, and it is not shown for eBay scheduling.

  7. Read the Important Update: alert in the dialog.

  8. Click Schedule.

Each Scheduling System: choice has a help icon in the 3Dsellers Schedule Listing dialog. This is what each one says:

Scheduling System

What the 3Dsellers dialog says

eBay

Schedule the listing through eBay's system. The listing will be available on eBay and 3Dsellers. However, scheduling fees will be charged and you cannot edit the listing.

3Dsellers

Schedule the listing with 3Dsellers to allow editing and avoid scheduling fees.

For the full comparison of the two systems, see eBay vs 3Dsellers Scheduled Listings: Fees and Limits.

⭐ If you pick a time that has already passed, the dialog says This time has already passed. The listing will be published immediately. 3Dsellers can also ask Selected time has passed with the choices Continue and Change time. Choose Change time to pick a later time.

A listing that is already scheduled shows Reschedule in the bottom bar. The Scheduling System: choice is hidden when you reschedule.

Where do my drafts and scheduled listings show up?

The Listings Segments sidebar in 3Dsellers includes four segments for drafts and scheduled listings. The number beside a segment is the number of items in it.

  • 3Dsellers Drafts

  • Unpublished Drafts - drafts that have not been listed yet.

  • Published Drafts - drafts that were already listed. The draft keeps a link to the live listing.

  • Scheduled - listings that you scheduled.

Which settings change how drafts work?

  1. Open Listings → Listings Manager → Settings and stay on the General tab.

  2. Under Draft Listings (1 in the picture), in the When publishing a Draft group, or under Ended Listings, tick the options you want.

Troubleshooting

My changes disappeared after I switched views

Unsaved changes are lost when you switch between New View and Old View in the 3Dsellers eBay listing editor. Make the edits again in the view you want. Next time, choose the view first, or save your edits before you switch, for example with Save As Draft.

The editor opens in a different view than I expected

3Dsellers opens the view you chose last in this browser, or Old View if this browser never chose one. Use the New View / Old View switch to change it.

I can't find Relist Now or Scheduled Relist

Scheduled Relist and Relist Now are buttons of the 3Dsellers eBay listing editor in Old View. For an Ended listing, New View shows Relist in Old View and the message Relisting is not available in the New View yet - this opens the listing in the Old View. Click Relist in Old View to reach them.

List Item or Schedule Listing does not go through

The 3Dsellers eBay listing editor checks the listing first and can stop. In Old View, the message starts Nothing was saved. Look at variation SKUs, the condition, UPC/EAN/ISBN and required item specifics. In New View, look at mixed SKUs, the Best Offer accept and decline amounts, and variations. Fix what the message points to and click the button again.

My listing was published right away when I scheduled it

If the time you picked had already passed, the Schedule Listing dialog in 3Dsellers says This time has already passed. The listing will be published immediately. When you schedule, choose Change time to pick a later time.

My draft is still there after I listed it

A draft that was already listed shows under Published Drafts. Two options in 3Dsellers are about deleting a draft after listing: Delete draft after listing: in the Schedule Listing dialog (3Dsellers scheduling only), and the setting delete the draft once listed from the editor under Listings → Listings Manager → Settings → General. Check both.
