Listing Quality Score – How It Works and How to Improve It

Learn how the 3Dsellers Listing Quality Score works, what each field contributes, and how to use the Optimize Listing Quality tool to fix issues manually or with AI.

Written by Karolina Santiago

The Listing Quality Score is a per-listing score that measures how complete and optimized your eBay listing is. It's designed to help you identify gaps that could be limiting your visibility, click-through rate, and conversions — and fix them quickly, either manually or with AI.

The score appears as a circular gauge directly in your listings table. The higher the score, the better optimized the listing is for eBay search and buyer trust.

Where to find it

The Quality Score column is visible in your Listings Manager → Active Listings (and Drafts) table. Each listing shows its current score as a number inside a color-coded circle:

  • Green — well optimized

  • Yellow/Orange — room for improvement

  • Red — significant issues to address

Hovering over a score shows a quick summary of the top issues for that listing. Click the score or the View More and Fix button to open the full Optimize Listing Quality panel.

The Optimize Listing Quality panel

The panel shows every scored field for the listing, with the current value, the points earned, and the maximum points available. Fields are grouped into sections you can scroll through and edit directly — no need to open the full listing editor.

At the top you'll see:

  • Quality Score — your current total score and number of issues to resolve

  • Select All — selects all fixable fields at once

  • Fix Selected with AI — runs AI on all selected fields in one click

How to fix issues

Fixing fields manually

Click into any field in the panel and type or update the value directly. For item specifics, required fields are marked in red and optional ones are grouped under an expandable Optional Item Specifics section. For Images, drag and drop new photos or click to upload.

When you're done, click Save & Exit to apply your changes.

Fixing fields with AI

Most content fields have an AI button next to them. Click it to let AI generate or suggest a value for that field based on your existing listing data (title, description, category, brand, condition, item specifics, etc.).

To fix multiple fields at once:

  1. Check the boxes next to the fields you want to fix, or click Select All

  2. Click Fix Selected with AI

  3. AI will generate values for all selected fields in one go

  4. Review the results and click Save & Exit

For Price, click AI Suggested Price to get a market-based price recommendation.

⚠️ AI Action Failed? This happens when the listing doesn't have enough product data for the AI to work with. Add more information (category, brand, color, size, title, description, item specifics) and try again.

Tips for a higher score

  • Title — include the model number, key features, and brand. Shoppers search by these.

  • Description — aim for at least 150 characters covering features, condition, and what's included.

  • Mobile Description — add a short, scannable version for buyers on phones.

  • Images — listings with 5 or more images get noticeably more views.

  • MPN / Model Number — helps buyers confirm they're buying the exact right product.

  • UPC/EAN — improves product matching and discoverability.

  • Package Dimensions & Weight — required if you use calculated shipping.

  • Required Item Specifics — always fill these in; they directly affect search filter visibility.

  • HTML Design Template — applying a professional listing template contributes to the score and improves buyer trust.

💡 No AI credits required. Using AI to fix fields inside the Optimize Listing Quality panel is completely free — it does not consume any AI credits from your account.
