Item specifics are one of the biggest factors in eBay search visibility. Missing or incomplete specifics — like Brand, MPN, Color, or Condition — can hurt your listings in search rankings and prevent buyers from finding your products through filters.
3Dsellers gives you two ways to bulk update item specifics across active listings and drafts, without editing each listing one by one.
Method 1 – AI Bulk Actions (Generate Item Specifics)
Best for: listings missing specifics entirely, or where you want AI to suggest values based on the product data you already have
The AI can analyze your listing's title, description, category, and existing data, then automatically suggest relevant item specifics — including eBay-required and recommended fields for that category.
How to use it
Go to Listings Manager → Active Listings (or Drafts)
Select the listings you want to update using the checkboxes
Click the AI dropdown → Generate Item Specifics
In the popup, Item Specs will be pre-selected. You can also choose to generate Required specifics only, or all specifics
Click Generate
Review results in AI Actions Approvals and click Apply Approved Actions
Adding specific details with a Custom Prompt
By default, the AI generates specifics based on what it can infer from your listing. But if you have known values — like Brand, MPN, or Manufacturer — you can instruct the AI to include them using the custom prompt field.
In the Generate AI Content popup, click Advanced View next to Item Specs and add your instructions. For example:
"Brand is Honda. Set MPN to the part number in the title. Manufacturer is OEM."
"Always set Brand to Nike and include the shoe size from the title."
"Fill in Compatible Vehicle from the listing title. Brand is Bosch."
💡 Custom prompts are especially useful when your listings follow a consistent format (e.g. part numbers always appear in a certain position in the title), or when you have a known Brand or Manufacturer that applies across a batch.
Reviewing AI-generated specifics
After generating, go to AI Actions Approvals (accessible from the top bar). Here you can:
Review each suggested specific before it goes live
Approve or reject individual items
Use Bulk Approve to accept all at once
Regenerate individual results that don't look right
Click Apply Approved Actions to push the changes to your listings
⚠️ The AI generates specifics based on your existing listing data. If a listing is missing a title, category, or description, results may be inaccurate or fail. Always make sure your listings have enough data before running AI actions. AI credits are consumed per listing regardless of whether the generation succeeds.
Method 2 – CSV Import (Update Listings)
Best for: setting exact known values across many listings — like adding a specific Brand, MPN, Manufacturer, or any custom item specific to a defined list of SKUs
CSV import gives you full control. You define the exact value for each specific on each listing — no AI guessing involved. This is the right method when you already know the values and want to apply them precisely.
How to use it
Go to Listings Manager → CSV Import → Update Listings
Prepare a CSV file with your listings' SKUs and the item specifics you want to update
Upload the file and map the columns if need
Run the import — 3Dsellers will update each listing matched by SKU
💡 Note: Item specifics using the C: prefix (e.g. C:Brand, C:MPN) do not need to be manually mapped in the mapping step — 3Dsellers detects and applies them automatically.
CSV format for item specifics
Use the C: prefix before the item specific name in your column header. This format works for any item specific — whether it's a standard eBay field or a custom one.
SKU | C:Brand | C:MPN | C:Manufacturer | C:Colour |
SKU001 | Nike | ABC-123 | Nike Inc. | Blue |
SKU002 | Bosch | DEF-456 | Bosch GmbH | Black |
ℹ️ The C: format imports any item specific — including ones that aren't part of the standard 3Dsellers CSV template. It also matches the same format used by eBay Seller Hub, so you can export from eBay and re-import directly.
Works on Active Listings and Drafts
The CSV update method works on both active eBay listings and 3Dsellers Drafts. Matches are made by SKU — so make sure each row has the correct SKU for the listing you want to update.
💡 Tip: For active listings, you can also use the eBay Item ID instead of the SKU to match the listing. This is useful if some of your active listings don't have a SKU assigned.
