With the 3Dsellers Listing Designer you put one of your designs around the description of your eBay listings, take it off again, or refresh it after you changed the template. You can do this for many listings at once from Listings Manager or from Design > Listing Designer > Listings, for a single listing from the Design Template column, and for future listings with an automatic default design on the Automations tab. This works for eBay listings only.
⚠️ ⚠️ Two things save the moment you touch them, with no Save button and no confirmation: every setting on the Automations tab (the automatic-design switch, its template and your category rules), and clearing the Design Template cell of a listing in Listings Manager, which removes that listing's design straight away.
In this article:
Where do I apply or remove a design?
The 3Dsellers Listing Designer offers four places. Pick the one that matches how many listings you are changing.
Place | Use it to | Where |
Listings Manager bulk action | Apply or remove a design on the listings you tick | Listings & Products > Listings Manager > Bulk Actions > Manage |
Listing Designer > Listings tab | Apply, remove or reapply on your active eBay listings | Design > Listing Designer > Listings |
Design Template column | Set or clear the design of one listing | Listings Manager grid |
Automations tab | Design every new listing automatically | Design > Listing Designer > Automations |
The Listing Designer has four tabs: Templates, Saved Designs, Listings and Automations. Templates and Saved Designs are where you build and keep designs; the other two tabs apply them.
How do I apply a design to many listings in Listings Manager?
In 3Dsellers Listings Manager, tick the eBay listings you want and use the bulk action Apply Design Template.
Open Listings & Products > Listings Manager and choose a tab such as Active.
Tick the listings you want to change.
Click Bulk Actions, then open the Manage group and click Apply Design Template. You can also type template in Search bulk actions... to find it.
In the Apply design template dialog, choose a design in Select template. Optionally tick Clean up description with AI first (next section).
Click Apply to eBay.
The dialog tells you how many listings are selected. There is no extra confirmation after Apply to eBay, so check the count first.
⭐ Apply Design Template and Remove 3Dsellers Design Template are not offered on the Ended tab, and eBay does not allow changes to ended listings. They are offered on the Active and All tabs.
What does Clean up description with AI first do?
The option Clean up description with AI first in the 3Dsellers Apply design template dialog removes old HTML templates, policies and shipping information from the description, then applies your new design to the cleaned text. Use it when a listing still carries a design from another tool.
It overwrites the current description. 3Dsellers warns that policies, shipping and returns information are removed and only the item description remains.
It uses AI credits. The dialog shows your remaining AI credits and what the cleanup will cost; with two listings selected it showed two credits.
You can add a Custom prompt or pick a saved prompt preset, and tick Skip AI approvals. Without that tick, the cleaned descriptions wait for your approval before the design is applied.
How do I apply a design from the Listing Designer Listings tab?
The Listings tab of the 3Dsellers Listing Designer lists your active eBay listings and shows the design each one uses in its Status column.
Open Design > Listing Designer > Listings. Click Sync from eBay only if you need fresh listing data.
Tick the listings. To use every eBay listing, tick the top box and click Select all your eBay items.
Click Bulk Actions and choose Apply Template.
Choose a design in Select Template and click Apply to eBay.
The dialog reminds you to edit these products with 3Dsellers only, because eBay may break the design code if you edit them on eBay. The Status column of a listing shows its design name, or Cannot update listing when the last attempt failed; point at the question mark next to it to read the reason.
How do I apply or clear a design on one listing?
In the 3Dsellers Listings Manager grid, the Design Template column holds a dropdown for every listing. If you do not see the column, add it with the table-layout button.
Click the dropdown in the Design Template column of the listing.
Choose a design. 3Dsellers asks you to confirm applying it to that listing.
Click Apply to eBay.
⚠️ ⚠️ Clearing the dropdown with the small x removes the design from that listing at once, without asking. To change designs, pick the new one instead of clearing the old one.
The eye button next to a design opens a preview of the listing with that design. The list also ends with Create new Template, which opens the Listing Designer.
How do I reapply a design after I edit the template?
Reapplying in the 3Dsellers Listing Designer sends each listing its current design again, so listings pick up the changes you made to the template. The Listings Manager Bulk Actions menu does not have it, so use the Listing Designer Listings tab.
Open Design > Listing Designer > Listings and tick the listings.
Click Bulk Actions and choose Re-apply Current Templates.
Confirm with Yes.
For the background, see Template Not Updating? Update Featured Listings, Images and Details.
How do I remove a design from my listings?
Removing takes the 3Dsellers design off the listing and keeps your own description text.
In Listings Manager: tick listings, click Bulk Actions, then Manage and Remove 3Dsellers Design Template. Click the red Remove button. It runs as soon as you click.
In Listing Designer: on the Listings tab choose Remove Template from Bulk Actions and confirm with Yes, remove.
This only removes designs made with 3Dsellers. For an HTML template from another tool, use AI Description Cleanup, or see How to remove third-party eBay design templates in bulk (non-3Dsellers).
How do I apply a design to every new listing automatically?
On the Automations tab of the 3Dsellers Listing Designer you choose a default design for listings you create from now on. Listings that already exist are not changed; use a bulk action for those.
Open Design > Listing Designer > Automations.
Turn on Automatically apply a design to newly created listings (1). The switch is greyed out until you have at least one template.
Choose the default design in the dropdown beside the switch.
Optional: click Add Rule (2) to design listings of a certain category differently. Each rule reads Apply [design] when new listing category is [category]. Choose both the design and the category; use the bin icon to delete a rule.
⚠️ ⚠️ Every change on the Automations tab is saved immediately. Switching off, changing the design or deleting a rule is stored the moment you do it. There is no Save button and no confirmation step.
Below the settings, Applied Rules History lists listings that have a design, with the design name and when it was applied.
What happens to my description?
A 3Dsellers design wraps your description: your text goes into the design's description area and the design adds its header and footer around it.
Applying again replaces the old wrapper; removing takes the wrapper away and keeps your text.
If you edit a designed listing on eBay with Revise listing, eBay can rewrite the code and a later apply may show the design twice. Edit with 3Dsellers, or remove the design first. See Listing Designer Isn't Removing the Template? - Is Duplicated/Looks Weird?.
Troubleshooting
I can't find Apply Design Template in Bulk Actions
It is only for eBay listings, and not on the Ended tab. Switch to the Active or All tab, tick at least one listing and open Manage.
The apply button is disabled and mentions my plan
3Dsellers shows that your plan does not include Listing Designer application and offers an Upgrade button.
I get a message that my token is invalid
The Listing Designer Listings tab asks you to renew your eBay token before it applies a design. Reconnect your eBay account in 3Dsellers and try again.
A listing says Cannot update listing
The last attempt for that listing failed. Point at the question mark to read the reason, fix it and apply the design to that listing again. Ended listings cannot be changed.
My design shows twice or looks broken
The listing was probably revised on eBay. Remove the 3Dsellers design from that listing, then apply it again, and edit with 3Dsellers from now on. Details: Listing Designer Isn't Removing the Template? - Is Duplicated/Looks Weird?.
My new listings did not get a design
Open the Automations tab and check that Automatically apply a design to newly created listings is on and a design is chosen. It only affects listings created after you turned it on. Apply a design to older listings with a bulk action.
A listing lost its design after I touched the Design Template cell
Clearing the dropdown removes the design at once. Choose the design again in the same cell and click Apply to eBay.
