The 3Dsellers free eBay Listing Template Designer is a rich-text editor with an eBay item description already loaded into it. Everything happens in the page you have open: the templates are part of the page, the colour controls rewrite the template's stylesheet live, and the finished HTML is assembled in your browser.
What it does:
Loads any of three named eBay templates - Electronics Pro, Tools & Equipment and Auto Parts & Accessories - or either of two blank layouts, 1-column and 2-columns, into a live editor you can type into.
Lets you edit every heading, paragraph and list in the template, add links and add images by URL.
Recolours four things: the header and footer background and text, and the description area background and text.
Previews the template at 1280 px, 768 px and 375 px, so you see the mobile layout before you list.
Copies the finished HTML with Copy HTML Code, or saves it as
3dsellers-template.htmlwith Download Template.
What it does not do:

Where do I find the free eBay listing template designer?
The editor is a section of one page on the 3Dsellers website: www.3dsellers.com/ebay-listing-template-design, under the heading eBay Listing Design Editor (WYSIWYG HTML). There is nothing to install and nothing to log in to.
Click Design now in the hero, or scroll down to the eBay Listing Design Editor (WYSIWYG HTML) section. Both take you to the same editor on the same page.
The Electronics Pro template is already loaded when the editor opens, so you can start editing immediately.
The controls sit above the editor - the four colour fields, then Preview device and Select layout - and Copy HTML Code and Download Template sit below it.
Which starting point should I choose?
The 3Dsellers free eBay Listing Template Designer gives you five starting points that all load into the same editor: three finished templates and two blank layouts. If you would rather build your own structure, use Select layout on the right of the control row. 1-column loads a plain skeleton with placeholder text ("Insert item title here", "Carefully describe your item...", a few bullets and a shipping and contact block); 2-columns loads the same skeleton with the gallery and the description side by side:
⚠️ Loading a template or a layout replaces everything in the editor and resets the four colour fields to that template's own palette. Once you have written your description or chosen your brand colours, do not click another Choose Template or layout button - the work is gone, because nothing is saved.
How do I edit the text and the images?
You edit the template the way you edit a document: click into the text in the 3Dsellers free eBay Listing Template Designer and type. The editor doubles as the preview, so the template you are typing into is what the description will look like. The toolbar has exactly 12 buttons:

Those 12 are the whole toolbar: there is no font, font-size, text-colour, table or source-code button, and no image uploader. To replace a picture, click it and use Insert/edit image with the URL of your own image; to change the fonts or the structure beyond that, edit the HTML after you have copied it out.
💡 The strip under the editor shows where your cursor is in the template, for example div > div > h2. It is the quickest way to tell whether you are about to edit a heading, a paragraph or a whole block.
Type one character after your last formatting change
⚠️ Finish with a keystroke, not with a toolbar click. The HTML that Copy HTML Code and Download Template hand you is refreshed when you type in the editor. A toolbar action on its own - bold, italic, underline, an alignment, a list, a link or an image - changes the editor but not that HTML. So after your last formatting click, type a character and only then copy or download.
This matters because it is silent. In a measured check on the 3Dsellers free eBay Listing Template Designer, one paragraph was bolded and Copy HTML Code was clicked straight afterwards: the editor held eight bold spans and the clipboard received seven. Nothing warns you, and the missing style only shows up after the description is already in eBay. Typing one character afterwards put the pending change into the output. So write your text first and style it as you go, and if in doubt click at the end of your description, type a space, and only then copy.
Which colours can I change?
The 3Dsellers free eBay Listing Template Designer has four colour controls above the editor, in two labelled pairs - Colors: Header/Footer on the left and Colors: Description Area on the right - each with a Background and a Text control. Every control is a swatch you click plus a hex field you can type into.

The swatch and the hex field are two views of the same value and stay in step: drag the swatch and the hex field updates, type a hex code into the field and the swatch follows. Every change repaints the template immediately - here Header/Footer Background has been set to #1F3A8A and both the logo block and the navigation bar have taken the new colour:
⭐ The hex field only accepts a full six-digit code with the hash, for example #1F3A8A. Three-digit shorthand such as #abc, and colour names, are ignored - the swatch does not move until the code is complete.
How do I check my eBay template on mobile?
Use Preview device in the control row. The three icons - and the Device dropdown next to them, which does the same thing - resize the preview inside the editor to a fixed width so you can see how the template reflows: iMac 1280 px (1), iPad 768 px (2) and iPhone 375 px (3).
The 375 px width is the one to check. eBay shows your description to phone buyers as well as desktop buyers, and 3Dsellers' own page puts more than 70% of eBay shoppers on mobile devices, so a description that only reads well at 1280 px is the wrong way round. At 375 px the navigation bar stacks into rows and the headings wrap - which is where you find out that a long store name, a wide image or a long product title does not fit:
💡 Switching the preview width is purely visual and does not change the HTML you copy. Leave it on the phone width while you edit or set it back to 1280 px - the exported template is identical either way.
How do I put the template into my eBay listing?
Two buttons below the editor take the template out of the page, and both produce the same complete, self-contained HTML document with the template's styles inside it. Copy HTML Code (1) puts it on your clipboard; Download Template (2) saves it as 3dsellers-template.html:
Copy HTML Code confirms itself with a Copied! message in the corner of the screen for about a second and a half. If you do not see it, the copy did not happen - use Download Template instead and open the file:
Then paste it into eBay. These are the steps as the 3Dsellers page describes them, and they take a couple of minutes:
Type a character at the end of your description so your last formatting change is included, then click Copy HTML Code and wait for the Copied! confirmation.
Log in to your eBay seller account and click Create Listing, or edit an existing listing.
Scroll down to the Description section of the eBay listing form.
Switch the description editor to its HTML tab (the advanced editor) - not the Standard tab.
Click into the empty HTML box and paste with Ctrl+V, or Cmd+V on a Mac.
Switch back to the Standard tab to check the visual preview, finish the rest of the listing fields and save or publish it.
Nothing is saved - keep the HTML you copy
⚠️ The 3Dsellers free eBay Listing Template Designer saves nothing. No template library, no history, no autosave - and with no account, nowhere to store one. Your design exists in that browser tab and nowhere else, so the HTML you copy or the 3dsellers-template.html file you download is the only copy of your work. Keep it.
In practice that means:
Download the file, or paste the code somewhere you can find again - the eBay listing itself, a text file, a note. Every future edit starts from that HTML.
Do not close or reload the tab until you have copied or downloaded the template. A reload starts you again on the Electronics Pro template.
Do not click another template or layout button to "look at" a different design mid-edit. It replaces the editor's contents and resets your colours.

The two things sellers usually ask for next are not part of the free editor: keeping a library of templates you can reopen, and applying one template to listings that are already live. If you are listing one item, or a handful, the free editor is the whole job. If you are restyling a catalogue that is already live, the bulk apply is what you are buying.
What to change before you publish the template
The templates are demonstration listings, so they arrive with sample content in them. Three things are worth checking before the HTML goes into a live eBay listing:
The placeholder pictures. They are hosted on the 3Dsellers website, so a listing that keeps them loads its pictures from someone else's domain. Replace every image with your own URL using Insert/edit image.
The footer credit and copyright line. The Tools & Equipment template ships with a footer reading "© 2019-2025 Copyright: yourshop", and the blank layouts end with a 3Dsellers credit line. Edit those to your own shop name and year, or delete them.
The sample store name, phone number and policies. The templates carry a demo store header - a phone number in the Tools & Equipment header, for example - and demo Payments, Shipping, Returns and About Us text. Replace all of it with your own terms.
⚠️ Do not delete the outermost <div> that wraps the template. The colour controls recognise which template you are on from that wrapper. If it is removed, the next colour change re-applies the plain skeleton's stylesheet instead of the template's, and the design collapses. Edit the content inside the template rather than the container around it.
Limits
The 3Dsellers free eBay Listing Template Designer is a one-listing design tool. It will not:
Save your work, keep a template library or remember anything between visits.
Connect to eBay, read your listings or publish anything for you.
Apply a template to more than one listing. There is no bulk apply in the free editor.
Upload image files. Images are inserted by URL only.
Change fonts, font sizes or text colours from the toolbar. The template's own fonts and the four colour controls are what you get.
Import an existing HTML template of yours into the editor.
Translate or rewrite your description. There is no AI content generation in the free editor.
Troubleshooting
My bold text and bullets are missing after I pasted into eBay
The exported HTML is refreshed when you type in the editor, so a formatting change made with the toolbar as your very last action is not yet in the copied code. Go back to the editor, click at the end of your text, type a space, click Copy HTML Code again and re-paste into eBay. See Type one character after your last formatting change for the detail.
I clicked Start from Scratch and my template is still there
Start from Scratch in the hero of the page only scrolls you down to the editor - it does not empty it, and the Electronics Pro template that loads automatically is still in place. To get a blank canvas, use Select layout above the editor and click 1-column or 2-columns.
I cannot find the Generate HTML Code button
There is no button with that name. Some of the instructions on the page call it "Generate HTML Code", but the button under the editor is labelled Copy HTML Code, and next to it is Download Template. Those two are the export.
I got a "Failed to copy" message, or no Copied! confirmation
Copy HTML Code writes to your system clipboard, and a browser that blocks clipboard access makes it fail - which is also why the Copied! confirmation does not appear. Use Download Template instead: it saves the same HTML as 3dsellers-template.html, which you can open in any text editor and copy from there.
The phone preview has a big empty space beside it
That is the preview, not your template. At the 375 px and 768 px widths the preview stays against the left edge of the editor and the rest of the editor area is left blank; your template still fills the whole phone screen on eBay. Judge the layout inside the narrow preview and ignore the white space beside it.
My design fell apart after I changed a colour
Check whether the template's outer wrapper <div> is still there: the colour controls identify the template from that wrapper, and if it has been deleted the next colour change applies the plain skeleton's stylesheet instead. The fastest recovery is to reload the editor, load your template again and paste your text back in.
I closed the tab and my template is gone
The free editor stores nothing, so a closed or reloaded tab starts again on the Electronics Pro template and the previous design cannot be recovered. If you had already pasted the template into an eBay listing, the HTML tab of that listing's description still holds the code and you can copy it back out of eBay. Otherwise rebuild it, and this time click Download Template as soon as it looks right - 3dsellers-template.html is your saved copy.

Is the 3Dsellers eBay listing template designer really free?
Yes - the eBay Listing Template Design editor is free to use, with no account, no sign-in and no card; the page states that it is "completely free with no hidden fees". Every control works without signing in: all three templates, both blank layouts, the four colour controls, the three preview widths, Copy HTML Code and Download Template.
Do I need to know HTML to use it?
No - you do not need to know any HTML. You edit the template as text and the editor generates the HTML for you; the only moment you touch code is pasting the generated block into the HTML tab of eBay's description editor. HTML only helps if you want to change something the four colour controls and the 12-button toolbar do not cover, such as the fonts.
Can I save my template design and reuse it later?

Will my eBay template work on phones and tablets?
Yes - the templates are built to reflow, and you can check it yourself before you list: the Preview device control resizes the preview to 1280 px, 768 px or 375 px. Look at the 375 px width in particular, because that is where a long store name, a wide image or a many-column layout shows up as a problem.
Are these templates allowed by eBay?
3Dsellers states that its templates comply with eBay's active content policy - they are free of the active content that causes eBay errors - and that 3Dsellers is an eBay-authorised Silver Solution Provider. Whatever you add yourself has to meet the same standard, so do not add scripts, forms or embedded media, and check eBay's listing policies first.
Why did my formatting not make it into eBay?
Because the copied HTML is refreshed as you type, and a toolbar action alone does not refresh it. If bold, a list, a link or an alignment was your last action before you clicked Copy HTML Code, that change was still missing from the clipboard. Type one character in the editor after your last formatting click, then copy again.
Can I apply one template to all of my live eBay listings at once?
No - not from the free editor. It exports one HTML document that you paste into one listing's description at a time. Applying a template in bulk to live eBay listings is a feature of the paid 3Dsellers Listing Designer, which the page describes as applying a design to live listings with one click.
How do I change the template's images?
