Overview
eBay's Feedback Policy governs what's allowed in buyer/seller feedback comments, ratings, and images, and how removal requests are handled. Feedback removal decisions are made entirely by eBay - 3Dsellers cannot remove, hide, or edit feedback on a seller's behalf.
When eBay will remove feedback
eBay removes or edits feedback (comment, rating, and/or images) when there's factual evidence it violates policy, including:
Personal attacks that go beyond constructive criticism
The buyer asked to cancel after placing the order
The order was cancelled due to a bad/undeliverable buyer address
The order was cancelled because the buyer didn't pay
The buyer is complaining about something that was clearly disclosed in the listing
The buyer has been actioned under eBay's Abusive Buyer policy
The buyer requested a change to the order after paying, and the feedback relates to that change
Images that don't accurately represent the item, or that violate other content policies (offensive material, adult content, etc.)
Feedback manipulation is separately prohibited - offering compensation for positive feedback, threatening negative feedback to extract concessions, exchanging feedback between accounts, or referencing feedback within a listing itself are all against the rules.
What eBay will NOT remove
A buyer is entitled to leave an honest negative or neutral rating based on their own experience - eBay won't remove feedback just because a seller disagrees with the buyer's opinion of the item or transaction, as long as it doesn't violate one of the specific grounds above. Receiving negative or neutral feedback does not by itself affect a seller's performance evaluation.
How to request removal
Sellers request removal through eBay's Seller Help tool within 90 days of the transaction. Clear-cut violations are removed automatically by eBay's systems; unclear cases get a manual review. If approved, removal happens within 24 hours and the seller is notified by email; if denied, eBay explains why the feedback doesn't violate policy. Sellers can also reply publicly to feedback, or ask the buyer to revise it if they're willing.
Is this an eBay restriction or a 3Dsellers issue?
eBay-side: anything about whether a specific feedback comment qualifies for removal, feedback manipulation concerns, or a seller's feedback score/profile visibility - these are entirely eBay's system and decision.
3Dsellers-side: feedback-related automations (like Feedback Reminder emails or alerts) not triggering, sending late, or reflecting the wrong comment type in 3Dsellers' own dashboards.
Important: 3Dsellers cannot remove, hide, edit, or influence eBay feedback in any way - that request always has to go through eBay's Seller Help tool. If a seller asks us to remove negative feedback, be upfront that this isn't something we're able to do, and point them to Seller Help.
