Keeping your SKUs accurate and consistent is essential for inventory tracking, order routing, and CSV imports. 3Dsellers gives you three ways to update SKUs depending on how many listings you need to change.
Method 1 – Edit SKUs manually
Best for: updating one or a handful of listings
You can edit a SKU directly in two places:
Inline in the listings table — click the SKU cell directly and type the new value
Inside the listing editor — open the listing and edit the SKU field in the details panel
Changes saved in 3Dsellers will sync to eBay automatically.
Method 2 – Bulk update SKUs with the SKU Generator
Best for: applying a consistent SKU formula across many listings at once
The SKU Generator lets you build a formula using product attributes, free text, separators, and random characters — then apply it to all selected listings in one click.
How to use it
Select the listings you want to update in the Listings Manager
Open Bulk Actions → SKU Generator
Configure your formula
SKU Code Template — load a previously saved template or build a new one from scratch
SKU Code Formula — add components (product attributes, free text, random characters) separated by a delimiter. The counter on the right shows the current character count (max 20)
Variation SKU Code Formula (optional) — define a separate formula for child SKUs on variation listings. If left empty, the main formula applies to child SKUs too
Additional Options — choose the output case: All lowercase, All capital, or Normal text
Preview — search for a listing to preview what its new SKU will look like before generating
Click Save as Template to reuse this formula later
Click Generate to apply the new SKUs to all selected listings
Method 3 – Update SKUs in bulk via CSV
Best for: renaming specific SKUs to exact values, or migrating SKUs from another platform
You can update SKUs across many listings at once by uploading a CSV with two columns:
SKU— the current SKU on the listingNewSKU— the new SKU you want to assign
SKU | NewSKU |
ITEM001 | ITM001 |
Upload the file at CSV Import → Upload CSV
Map SKU to your current SKU column and NewSKU to your new SKU column
Run the import — 3Dsellers will match each row by the existing SKU and update it to the new value
⚠️ Note: Make sure the SKU column exactly matches the current SKU on the listing — including capitalisation. Unmatched rows will be skipped or created as new drafts.
