To prevent account damage, we have programmed a 3-strike safety net for your GTC Automation rules.

If you have "publish a duplicate version of the listing" option set, and three listings do not publish correctly, your rule will turn itself off and an email will be sent to you.

Why this happens:

The most common reason is that the item is an eBay Motors listing (listed in eBay Motors category.)

Behind the scenes at eBay, eBay Motors is it's own website. (just like .com - .co,uk - .au etc). In addition to eBay motors, if you list on different marketplaces (countries) the below may still apply.

If you are having troubles with eBay Motors (different marketplaces) listings, we recommend either:

  • turning off "publish duplicate" setting and relist your items manually from ended listings in Listing Software, or
  • BEST: add eBay Motors marketplace for your account

How to add eBay Motors Marketplace:

  • On your accounts page, click the "add marketplace" next to the account you use for your Motors listings.
  • Find eBay Motors and select it.

A new version (duplicate) of your account will be created, where you can then set your GTC rule for Motors items only.
